Ospir George is a young friend of mine and at his 23’rd autumn of his life he was strucked by this lighting of news, bad news saying that he was suspected having Acoustic Neuroma disease, a tumor inside (actually inside his internal ear, I am not having medical knowledge) his brain that is making pressure on the brain nervs, the ones that control the equilibrium. In november 2007 his left side of his face and tongue was getting insensible and after a tomograph he found out that the tumor was 3 cm wide. The first operation took place at 16 november but the medics did not remove most of the tumor, leaving almost half inside. After the recovery and after he succeded in promoting most of the exams from the exams session, he fell ill and went back to the hospital where the medics discovered that the tumor grew up to 3 cm back , and after 3 or 4 days it was up to 5 cm wide. At 11 january they made another operation after wich George lost his sense of equilibrium and besides this he lost the strong reflexes, that he had before this tragic period, at his left arm and leg. Not being able to stand up on his own, getting dizzy very fast and having problems with the left arm and leg, a huge headache, he left Iasi (the city where he had his first 2 operations) and went to seek a way out of this painfull situation.Few weeks ago he had a operation that used a Gamma-knife. This week he will get the exact information about the tumor and begin chimiotheraphy.
One of 130 thousand people is having this disease and in Romania the chanses of fully recovery after the operation are small, not to mention the chanses of fully recovery of one that is having 3 or 4 operations.

For admission i can offer you the 15.04.08 or 16.04.08. Please let me know which date is convenient with you, then i will send you the invitationletter with all details you need. Best regards, Beate Müller Tue, 25 Mar 2008 01:06:04 -0700 (PDT)ospirgeorge@yahoo.com Dear Mr. Ospir, risks of surgery are particularily the injury of cranial nerves, i.e. the facial nerve and the nerves responsible for swallowing. There is only a small risk of life-threatening complications, the rate is in any case much lower compared with the spontaneous course of the disease. We would expect that it is possible to remove the tumor completely without severe and permanent cranial nerve symptoms. For all administrative questions please contact Mrs. Mueller, ++49 511 270 92 157 or pm.international@ini-hannover.de.Kind regards, Dr.T.Brinker

Sunt colega cu mama lui George. Suntem alaturi de ea
Incercam sa-i ajutam.
Bai fratilor? Cine i-a recomandat chimioterapie???? Daca tumoarea e bengna de ce i se administreaza chimioterapie?????
Traim in Burkina Fasso????
Sorry, i dont know dutch… I saw this blog when I searched for something about some tumors as I’ve wondered if i can find anything possibly related to my running leg injury (overuse from running a lot) and then i read the 1st part and was like “wow!” anyways, (if you can read this. i dont know dutch.) that “acustic nueroma disease” is also known as Neurofibromatosis type 2, which I also have! Hopefully your friend will be okay. i’ve been totally deaf since last year, got Auditory Brainstem Implant, which helps a lot w/ lip-reading. I don’t have equilibrium (balance nerves), both do not work…. But, I’m 21. I run on school cross country team and go to normal college, oh and i’m doing really well after all those operations! Honestly, I think that it surprises my doctors! You seem only concerned about the balance and did not mention the hearing loss, which affects most people with this disease… as for my lack of balance… good vision and leg strength help a lot. I can walk, run, ride a normal bike, …. i cannot do perfect “cart-wheels” or hold a 10 minute “flamingo” pose! Most people with this balance issue… will adjust… with some time. God Bless!
